Volunteer Programs
We are pleased to provide the Bangkok community volunteering opportunities within the following programs designed to stimulate and motivate the children at Baan Rajvithi:
1. Tutoring Lab
Objective: Improve students' grades in school
Method: Tutoring in groups of less than 5 students per tutor using school materials such as textbooks and homwork brought by the children.
Requirements: Volunteer tutors must be fluent in Thai unless they are tutoring a foreign language.
2. Special Lessons
Objective: Enrich lives of the children
Method: Offer recurring or finite lessons (for example, 10 week course meeting 2 hours per week) for an interest, trade, or sport. Lessons can range from athletics to cooking to computer programming; limited only by the skills of the volunteer and facilities at the orphanage. Tennis courts, soccer fields, computer lab, and more are available for use.
Requirements: Volunteers must be comfortable instructing a class and derive the lesson material independently.
3. Role Model Talks
Objective: Inspire and/or inform the children.
Method: Volunteers are invited to give a talk of inspiration or share personal experiences to build awareness.
Requirements: Volunteers must be considered well accomplished in the community.
4. Fun Activities
Objective: Expose children to positive influences and have fun!
Method: Events to celebrate good behavior, good grades, etc. will be setup at various times involving anything from food and games to karaoke and dancing. Good opportunity to get to know the children in a stressless fun, yet organized environment. Easiest program to participate in.
Requirements: Volunteers must pass a background check to participate in any of our programs.
